The Tidewater Saxophone Quartet began as a group of saxophone majors at James Madison University in the mid-1980's. The two mainstays of the group were Jim Harney and Jim Richmond who are still with the group today. |
Many other fine saxophonists have played with the group over the past 20 years. Currently, the other 2 positions are held by Renee Kingan and Janet Harney. |

The TSQ has performed for concerts, recitals, wedding and as strolling entertainment. The TSQ plays music from every genre and is adept at all styles of music.

The group has traditionally been busy during the holiday season performing at several locations around the tidewater area. With an extensive book of holiday music, most of which has been specifically arranged for the TSQ by Jim Harney, audiences of all ages enjoy their performances. With a wide variety of music to choose from, there is always something for everyone. |
